Job Description
As a Dentist onboard a luxury cruise ship, you will provide comprehensive dental services to both guests and crewmembers, including preventive care, dental hygiene education, emergency procedures, extractions, restorations, and management of dental infections. You will assist the Senior Doctor and medical team in promoting dental health and ensuring safety and compliance with international medical standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver dental care to crew and guests: preventive care, hygiene, extractions, fillings, x-rays, and infection management.
- Manage dental emergencies and support medical staff during onboard incidents.
- Maintain dental records using electronic medical systems.
- Supervise dental assistant and coordinate administrative tasks with the Medical Secretary.
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with company policies and public health standards.
- Monitor dental supply inventory and participate in annual medical budgeting.
- Educate crew on dental hygiene and preventive practices.
- Participate in safety drills, inspections, and contribute to outbreak prevention.
Requirements
- Education: Doctor in Dental Surgery or Dentist Degree from a recognized College or University.
- Completion of a specialty training program (General Dental Practice or Endodontics preferred)
- Active, valid dental license in good standing.
- Experience in extractions, restorations, fillings, infection management, and urgent dental care.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in general dentistry (not including mandatory rural/social service).
- Valid certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (mandatory).
- Languages: Advanced English communication skills (verbal & written).
