Physiotherapist – Cruise Ship
Job Description
As a Physiotherapist onboard a luxury cruise ship, you will support the medical and safety teams by assessing, treating, and preventing injuries among crewmembers, while ensuring their health and well-being at sea. You will provide physiotherapy treatments, lead ergonomic and stretching programs, and contribute to injury prevention campaigns in collaboration with the ship’s doctors and safety officers.
Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and monitor musculoskeletal conditions of crewmembers.
- Support the medical team with physiotherapy interventions as requested by the Senior Doctor.
- Lead ergonomics awareness training and stretching programs for high-risk departments (Food Service, Housekeeping, Entertainment).
- Observe daily operations to identify unsafe work practices and provide corrective feedback.
- Manage and follow up on crew members enrolled in the Tele-PT program.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical system (SeaCare).
- Assist in managing medical and physiotherapy supplies.
- Support safety drills and respond to medical emergencies as part of the shipboard medical team.
- Provide administrative assistance including medical forms, reports, and injury statistics.
Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy (or related field).
- Valid license to practice physiotherapy in country/state of origin.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience as a Physiotherapist.
- Valid certifications: BLS certification is an advantage.
- Advanced patient management skills and compassionate approach.
- Languages: Intermediate to advanced verbal and written English.
