Job Description

As a Dental Assistant onboard a luxury cruise ship, you will support the Doctor in Dental Surgery in providing dental care for guests and crewmembers, assist during dental procedures, maintain records, and ensure proper handling of instruments and supplies. You will be a key part of the ship’s medical team, contributing to both emergency response and preventive dental care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dentist during examinations, treatments, and emergencies.
• Maintain, sterilize, and operate dental instruments and equipment.
• Provide oral hygiene education and preventive care to crewmembers.
• Record and update patient data in electronic medical systems.
• Prepare and manage dental forms, reports, and billing records.
• Support the management of dental and medical supply inventories.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Participate in safety drills and support medical emergencies when required.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and professional Dental Facility.

Requirements

• Education: Degree in Dental Assistance.
• Active, valid dental assistant license in good standing.
• Complete chronology of dental activities since graduation.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate clinical experience in dental assistance.
• Valid certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Languages: Intermediate to advanced English communication skills.
